looking to get 8 tomato plants into a raised bed. need to go 4 plants by 2 plants. what length and width bed do i need for this?

Are you going to prune the plants during growth or let them grow? Ami

8 plants can fit in two rows in a 4' x 8' bed or staggered in a 3' x 12' bed.
But since you said they have to be two rows of four, then I'd go with 4' x 8'.

OK, here are pictures of my raised bed at work which is about 18x3 feet. The varieties shown are;Giant Belgium, Schlesische Himbeere, Pink Brandywine, Carbon, Orange Strawberry and Bulgarian Rosa Riese starting from the left side of first picture.
First picture taken June 21 showing the whole bed consisting of 6 plants. Second and third pictures taken July 16 with each shot showing half the bed 3 plants per picture. These are all indeteminates untrimmed. Ami

I would say go 4 feet unless you plan on putting up a nylon net as I did which you can see in the 2nd and 3rd picture. Ami
