Slightly off-subject here, but there is also a DoctorTomato. It is a Turkish tomato farm with approx 7 1/2 acres of grape tomatoes growing in soil less greenhouses. It is interesting, and worth a tour through their Photo Gallery:

I see that he has at least one of my pictures. That is surprising, I thought my backyard photo shots would not be good enough for anyone else to use.

Adam,
are you going to contact him to have your picture removed? I few days back I received a response from Dr. Tomato when I sent him my 4th email, thanking him for removing TOMATObase pictures. He said that all the pictures he has on his website were either his own or sent to him by other people. I responded to that and said that he still had other copyrighted images on his website that belong to other tomato seed vendors, specifically to SSE, TGS, Baker Creek, and Tomatofest. Up to date I have not seen these pictures removed, nor that I have received any other response from him. Tania

It is also interesting that he changed 'website created' date to 2000-09-11. I think it was 2009 before.
An innocent error?

Not to add fuel to the fire, but I am fairly certain that the Giant Pumpkin pics that he has listed in the giant veggie category are the 900 & 1045 Horton.... I don't know if he has permission or if he purchases seeds from this grower, just an observation..

Look at the crops on those photobucket pics. You know, when you take a really nice tomato picture, don't you want the whole tomato in the picture? Those crops are awfully tight. Wonder why?

I have tried to go to that website today, and it looks like it has been taken down altogether. Someone else confirm that I'm not just typing it in wrong...but...

It's gone...back to the host's 'parking' page...
Now the big question is, did the site really get suspended or is the disappearance of it just part of the game? |

Note to Dr. Tom: my seed suppliers (Baker Creek and SSE) were incredibly kind about allowing use of their photos, in exchange for credit on my website. I also included a link to their sites, which I felt was the least I could do because of their generosity. After this season, I now will have my own photography...but PLEASE ask for permission before you use others' photos! Not only does it violate copyright, but you would have avoided all of this negative PR for your business!

A bit more details about that are in the 'I am so mad' thread in the General Discussion forum.

Folks as you know I grow large pumpkins. So I know about every major vendor. That first Big Moon shot is from the Park web site. Have not pinned down the other one but am very sure it is from a well known vendor.
