2015 Plant Swap
Looks like we’re all set for the 2015 CHOPTAG plant swap. Greta was able to reserve the new Expo Building at the Clinton County Fairgrounds for our use. So mark your calendar for May the 17th from 12 noon to 3.
The theory is to bring your extra plants and give away more than you accept. That never seems to work for me. But if you don’t have any plants to trade you’re still invited. You can easily make up for the lack of plants by bringing food! As we get closer to May 17th and you know what extra plants you’ll have post a list here and people can get a sense of what will be available. People have been known to reserve plants so post early and post often. Remember that EVERYONE is welcome. Here is the address for the Clinton County Fairgrounds: Clinton County Fairgrounds 958 West Main Street Wilmington, OH 45177. https://www.facebook.com/clintoncountyfairground www.clintoncountyfair.org “

The only cherry I started this year is Black Cherry. I got a late start this year and am behind on things.

I wouldn't mind another cherry tomato if you've got anything interesting. Maybe something I haven't grown before(I've grown sun sugar, sun gold and sweet 100).

I plan to be there tomorrow with my non-gardener hubby. Sorry I didn't plant any this year but will bring some yummy food for y'all.
Anyone growing an especially good paste tomato this year? I want to have our Wright-Patterson Diabetic Clinic Research Garden try something new this year and maybe we can do a cooking/canning workshop for the group. tootaloo, I'd love (I think you wrote) 1 Green Doctors and 1 Frosted Green Cherry Jerry, I'd love 2 of Aker's West Virginia, 2 Opalka as I think that is a sauce/paste type? 1 each Sungold, Chocolate cherry, and Lillian's. What about large red slicers? Any plans if it is raining and lightning? Zeroma Vicki |

Glad to see CHOPTAG is still going strong! I'm moving back to the area after years of being in Chicago. Actually moving next month to Lexington, have a baby on the way, and starting a new job. Whew!
But I'm looking forward to next year's plant swap already! |
