Robin Hood Tomato?
Robin Hood Tomato?
I was going through the SSE 2007 Yearbook list line 3675 red tomato and came across the name of this tomato. Does anyone have information about them. I did a google search and did not turn up anything. Sounds like a tomato for those who like to read fairytales and legends Now if I can get my garden to look like Sherwood Forest WHAHOO Thanks John |

That's b'c the greatest majority are not offered commercially anywhere so aren't picked up by Google scans. I don't see Robin Hood in the 2006 Yearbook, so it must be new to the 2007 so perhaps someone who has already received their 2007 SSE Yearbook will answer the questions for you since I haven't received my 2007 yet. I must say I'm a bit suspicious of a variety named Robin Hood, though.

Angelo-Determinate and rugose. Nice looking. Any idea where it came from? Looks like several varities I have grown. Do you remember how tall it is? I wonder if it is a re-named variety.
My father fought in Belgium during World War II with the 99th Division. I remember traveling from France to Belgium when we lived in Europe to retrace his route. He was in Krinkelt during the Battle of the Bulge. Eisenborn is another name I remember. We went back to the house he was in when it started and had a nice visit with the family that owned the house. Nice people. All the best.

Lists a Swedish source...
***** Ten to one that's Aki, and it doesn't mean it's got a Swedish origin. Aki has contacts everywhere and over the years he's introduced many Russian varieties we all know so well to all of us thru his SSE listings and many many other European varieties as well. Got about 5-6 " of unexpected snow last night and I suppose my mailman, and/or the husky team with sled will pass me by until Jeff has plowed the driveway. Hence, no 2007 SSE Yearbook this weekend.

No, I am pretty sure they are vastly different plants!
Those w/o yearbooks should feel lucky...My head is pounding from sleep deprivation and reading into the wee hours... My husband will be home today , and after 6 days of being single mom and chore girl I will finally be able to get some pepper seeds planted....Of course it is 18 today and will be in the 20's all weekend...Just good timing he missed all the cold and snow shoveling I guess... Maybe we should get the Lady Marion Tomato and ask her
Thanks for helping with this everyone. I liked the name and wondering about it for growing. LOL if we had Lady Marion, Little John etc we could create The Adventures of Robin Hood Tomatoes Garden |

Spider--Red Robin is open pollenated, not hybrid.
