A friend has a mix of RL and PL Olomovic seedlings. Does anyone know what leaf type it is supposed to be please?

*******

Few folks at SSE have listed it thru the years and I couldn't find anyone, even looking in a few back Yearbooks who stated leaf type.

I did find one reference to it being RL at the DG Plant Files. But what so many folks say about it, as to origin, is wrong. They say that it was bred by Milan Sodomka in Czechoslovakia.

it was bred there but not by him. He was the person who distributed the seeds of the varieties bred by the still unknown Czech breeder to the US and most of them he left with Abundant Life many many years ago.

Almost all who list it in the Yearbooks cite Abundant Life as being their source.

Best I can do, for now.

Raymondo,
As far as I can determine from my many PL reference sources, Olomovic is RL. There must have been a seed mixup or accidental/insect cross somewhere in the seed your friend received although a mutation is a very very very remote chance.

Craig Lehoullier also has observed such rarity of mutations vs accidental or deliberate crosses.

Best regards,

I think it's a case of mixed seed or an accidentally forgotten label. I'll check further.
