Default Open pollinated tomato similar to Sunsugar?

I grow Sunsugar every year and so many people love them.

My only complaint is that I can not save seeds from them.

I have one that I am going to try and that is Galina's for this year.

Just wondering if anyone has grown any open pollinated varieties that are similar to Sunsugar?

Thanks

Jim

I had to look up Sunsugar F1 and found it's an orange cherry. Galina's is a gold cherry and a darn good one at that. I think that Reinhard Kraft's latest OP of Sungold might be a good try. It's called Big Sungold Select and I just offered it in my seed offer here. It's orange from the get go, unlike Sungold F1, larger than Sungold F1 and has pretty darn good taste.

I did see you posted your question elsewhere so lets see what others might suggest for an OP orange cherry.

In my climate, Sunsugar F1 and Galinas were exactly the same color, a medium to deep yellow/gold with no hint of orange! Sungold F1 was orange here, though.

Do you still have any Big Sungold Select seeds for trade?

That sounds like what I am looking for.

I looked at you seed offer and if I understood it right it was closed?

Yes, my seed offer is closed Jim. But if you PM me your address I can send you a few seeds of Big Sungold Select. I don't trade seeds for many reasons and the fact is that I'd rather give seeds away in a seed offer rather than trade seeds. The one major exception is when someone sends me a new family heirloom where seeds have not been distributed and then I offer several varieties back, of that person's choosing, of ones that I do have.

Sorry folks, this is not a general offer. The SSE Yearbook is on its way and I have to reorganize my seeds for that and as I said in my seed offer, my major obligation is to my SSE listings but I've still been able to do an annual seed offer for many years now.

Thanks for understanding.
