Default Ugly tomato garden.

I'm not as tidy as the rest of you guys and my rows aren't very straight.

I just tossed in some plants this weekend in my spare time, after I tilled in a yard of compost.

Then in each tomato hole I put in a bit more compost.
After scattering out the plants I just put up some cheap tomato cages I had laying around.

I know I didn't do as well as some of you guys but I guess it will have to do.
Sorry for the ugly looking things.
I hope I get a tomato.
I really don't know what I'm doing anyway.

Worth,
Looks very nice. You should be rolling in the tomatoes by the time I plant around May 10th. Jay

Thanks Jay. I think May also.

Yes Don, they are Texas tomato cages.

I hope they don't freeze, I'm planting more tomatoes tomorrow at the other place.

I have also sold some for $3.00 a plant and more people want plants.

I sent my brother home with 18 plants (no charge).

Well, I do hope you aren't so random about your hygiene.
And while I'm at it, clean up your bedroom. It's a mess.

But seriously, Worth, nature abhors a vacuum almost as much as a straight line. Go with it. My stakes are often at 75 degrees.

Okay Worth, it's time to confess. You have a laser level too don't you.

Looks great.

Looking good. Hope you don't get in trouble planting on those gas lines.

OK I don't have a lazer level and its not a gas line.

I put a stake at both ends and ran a 100 foot tape from one to the other.

Then every 3 feet I put in a flag.
I move the stakes over 4 feet and repeated the process.

Thusly my rows are 4 feet across and the plants are 3 feet apart.

I left the flags in so I could catch them out of the corner of my eye so I wouldn't step on the plants while putting up the cages.

It seems like I always step on a plant but the flags worked, not one plant was stepped on.8)

Every year I put out plants it comes a down pour.
I planted 32 tomato plants and 5 long stem Rose bushes.
Guess what?
Its pouring down rain right now.

Same here. Raining here big time also. I was messing with you about your flags. Have them on every job site I'm on.

I wish it was a gas line we don't have gas here and I am at the edge of the city limits.

I'm going to have to put in a propane tank so I can have a 48 inch Wolf Stove.

I pay city tax but I don't have access to natural gas, what a bummer.

I want a wolf stove SOOOOO BAD
