Pro-Mix HP Question

I wasn't able to find Pro-Mix BX and ended up buying several bales (3.8 cu ft) of Pro-Mix HP. I plan to transplant dwarf varieties to 7 gallon containers and wonderring if I should amend the HP mix. According to mfg, HP mix contains the following:

Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss(65-75% by volume)
Perlite - horticultural grade
Dolomitic and Calcitic limestone(pH adjuster)

Appreciate any suggestions from this knowledgable group.

Punch in Pro Mix in search block,you will get a whole bunch of info.Just this past week or two a whole bunch of info was threaded.

I read through all the posts on Pro Mix before I posted the question. I will take another look though. Maybe I overlooked something. Thanks kurt.

I think HP stands for high porosity (that looks funny no matter how I try to spell it!) in that this mix has more perlite than the BX. I think I'd probably add some compost to give it a little more body. Of course I add a little compost to everything!

I agree Sherry - I always add compost and worm poop as well.
