Health issues...2 cataract removals plus other things have kept me from indulging in this fine website for a while.
Anyway now that I'm back I can show off about my tomatoes...
Early Girls are ripening but oh so slowly. Then again if we get ripe outside toms before Xmas we are lucky over here.
Averaging 1 every 5 days.

My 'Hobbit' tomato which I have been selecting from a cross between Tiny Tim and Zapotec looks like it may have stabilized this season. Rugose foliage, bush plant with ribbed 2" fruit...looking good.

Tiny Tim x Yellow Stuffer. F2. Virtually every plant looks different. It is exciting. Dozens with different foliage and 1 that looks dwarf. Going to be interesting.

I'm thrilled to hear that you are on the mend. I had cataract surgery back in 1999 and have implants in both eyes. (cause: undiagnosed diabetes)

Please keep us posted on your "Hobbit" and Tiny Tim x Yellow Stuffer F2's.

Let's not turn this into the cataract kid thread but I also have a stage 3 out of 4 cataract in my right eye, the one that already has ptosis following removal of some warts years ago, so I kinda read and drive and type and all else, one eyed.

But the car is in the garage for the winter so if anyone from my home town is reading here, and THAT would be an impossibility, you don't have to drive into the ditch to avoid me.

What was that about the one-eyed Monster that I seem to remember existed?

Delighted to hear that some of your crosses are giving you such interesting results.

So here's another cataract surgery in both eyes and for reasons we won't go into can't see out of one eye person.

Glenn, welcome back! Your "Hobbit" tomato fruit description sounds similar to the description and photo for Ceylon in the TGS catalog. "...about 2 inches across....flattened, scalloped tomatoes...." It's not dwarf, though. Sounds like a cutie.
