I keep my house at 70 or so in the day time and 65 at night.
This is the temperature my tomatoes are. When you bite into them there is this rush of coolness, juice and flavor that is overwhelming. I have this pile of Riesentraube tomatoes here that is quickly deminishing. ![]() What temp do you guys eat them? Don't tell me you refrigerate your tomatoes. ![]() Worth |

I think a tomato has the best flavor when it is picked "vine ripe"... "ripe" for me this is just a little bit of green shoulders on a firm red tom in 75-85 degree weather.
Otherwise room temp will have to suffice. |

I would have to guess that I like them best at about 85 degrees or so... while standing in the garden. It does bring out the flavor I think.

We keep the house at 80-82 F in the summer, so that's the temp at which we eat fresh, raw tomatoes.
I eat fruit at room temperature as well, for the most part. A cold piece of fruit might feel refreshing in hot weather, but you lose a lot of flavor when fruit is at refrigerator temperatures.

![]() I picked my last mater this morning and had to pull the plaants out due to powdery mildew and a mild early blight or some other fungi disease and RKN. Also the psylid virus may have effectrd them too. ![]() ![]() |

Room temperature, which is usually pretty close to outside temperature. We have just one window AC unit that keeps the air in the house drier, but not much cooler.

Why yes, now that you mention it, I do trim my pigtails in preparation for tomato season. I don't want to lean forward and find a pigtail in the salsa bowl.
