A question on Hybrids
I don't post too much here, but I lurk quite a bit. There are so many more knowlegable people here than me, so I don't have much to contribute. But, I read and learn everyday. So, here is my question.
I am more than sure, actually I am quite certain that this question has been raised before. So, please bear with me. First, I understand what a hybrid is and I understand that that don't come true if you try and save the seeds to replant. My question is. How do seed companies mass produce their seed year to year, if they can't save their own seed and regrow them? Surely they don't cross them every year, do they? I can see all sorts of problems with that theory. Thanks for pondering my question. |

Yes, the question has been posed before, and using the search feature at the top of the page I found the above thread that might answer your question. If it doesn't please just ask what wasn't covered here in your own thread.

Thank you Carolyn. I found this link buried in the link you gave me. I haven't even glossed over the surface yet, But it will give me some late night reading to do. Thanks again.
