Started my tomatoes today
Today I decided to start my tomato seeds, so here's what I'm growing by seed this year 1 Better Boy, 2 Jet Star, 1 Black Sea Man & 2 Tiny Tim. 2 weeks from now I'll plant 1 Jet Star, 1 Black Sea Man & 2 more Tiny Tim. I'm hoping by staggering the seeds I'll get a steady flow of tomatoes.

I used to grow Jet Star, it is a good tomato. I am not sure it will help you at all to stager planting tht one since it is indeterminate, it will keep producing all season. You would likely end up with more tomatoes if you started them all now and put them in at the same time. I didn't look the others up to see if they are determinate or indeterminate. Good luck!

Sue CT only the Tiny Tim are indeterminate, and maybe your right I may just seed start the Tiny Tim in 2 or 3 weeks. I really will have enough tomatoes last year I got more than I needed I'll haveone less plant this year so I think i'll be fine.

Maybe there is also a determinate version. The one I always grew was interdeterminate. Anyway, it is your garden and you should do what works for you! Makes me want to throw in a Jet Star this year, because its hugely productive and I am almost out of canned tomoatoes, so I need a good productive year this year myself! |
