Newbie BER question with pictures

When I see this (see the picture below) is there any hope that it will turn into a nice tomato, or should I just pluck the poor guy and toss him in the compost bin?

I'm a little sad because about 5 or 6 of the toms on this plant looked like this when I came out this evening.

No hope what so ever, pull them off and toss.

Are they in containers?
If so it is because of irregular watering ie the pots drying out between watering.

Paste tomatoes are notorious for BER.

By the way I spent the night in Seattle last night.

Plucked two little guys yesterday, at anytime I see signs of BER they are pulled but I am a container grower.
