Out in the garden
I don't have much in the way of tomatoes yet. I'm staring at a ton of green ones! But my husband came out and took a few photos of the garden and me working.
Maria Amazilitei's beans on a folding trellis looking thing that I garbage picked last year. The beans are yellow and crescent shaped. I can't wait to have some. Nice photos! All of the bean plants are looking good (bushy and very tall). The Gransasso Red Pear is very nice. I think that will be on my list for next year.

Remy, am I the only one with ripe tomatoes in Western New York? My neighbor hasn't picked anything but cherries yet also.
This was my haul last Thursday. |

Thanks everyone!

The Gransasso Strain is similar to the Franchi, but not the same. My friend Sorellina/Julianna grew it and would know since she has grown most every type of this kind. It was a pack from Italy that I got from Harvest Moon which is now Gourmet Seed around 2005 or 6. It came from the Sgaravatti Seed Co. Here's a copy of the front of the pack. scan0001.jpg Remy

Tom,
Last I grew it was in 2007. If I remember correctly, I was very happy with it. It was meaty so good for canning/sauce, but it was not dry/mealy like pastes so it could be used fresh. I like tomatoes to be dual purpose like that. Hopefully my memory is correct. Remy
