How is the best way to store true potato seed? How long can they be stored for?

Have you ever had an electric power outage? I have had them so often in my lifetime that I just won't try to freeze seed again. For short term it is OK and the new sealing materials are much better than in the old days.
For my purposes...cool and dry is good enough for me. |

Like Tom says cool and dry. I would put them into a jar with a dessicant to keep them from haveing fluctuations in moisture.

I'm in the deep south. I store tomato and potato seed in my deep freeze in sealed containers with dessicant. If you have any questions at all whether you might lose power for more than 3 days, then it is best if they are in a sealed glass jar. Kilner jars are best for this use.

Yes, that 1959 seed was stored at an optimal temperature. I will do a bit of research and document that.
