I have seen something similar happening with my Trinidad Scorpion and Scotch Bonnet Red peppers - some weird shape change on the same plants. At the beginning, I even thought I did not get correct Scotch Bonnets!

Trinidad Scorpions started out without tails, and later in the season they produced typical shapes with 'tails'. Strange, isn't it?
