400 degree oven, 425 if you are in a hurry
Peel eggplant
Slice 3/4-1" thick
Lightly oil with good olive oil, but too much, they will soak up a quart if you allow it.
Salt
Place on metal sheet pan, and put in oven.
Bottom browns first, flip when properly browned, to get both sides brown.
45-60 min total in 400oven, about half that in 425.
Simple.
Delicious.
