Default new to canning, help me please

Last night I canned my first thing ever, a batch of blackberry jam. Well, after their time in the water bath, I noticed that the lids were still popping up and down when pressed. This morning, after they had cooled overnight, I noticed that the lids were sucked down. Last night I was worried I did something wrong but this morning it looks ok. What is up?
