Default Thos can't be a moisture problem...can it???

These 4 tomatoes were planted on the same day and the tubes they are in are side by side. All tubs were cleaned with bleach then soapy water well in advance of planting. All plants are hybrids and ones that I have grown successfully in the past.
One difference is the growing media...
Healthy plants are in a 1:1 mix of peat and promix
Sickly plants are in a 3:1:1:1 mix of Pine bark fines, Peat Moss, Composted manure, 2 year old compost plus 1 shovel of sand
Another difference is sickly plants had newspaper in bottom of container which prevented them from draining, found this out after getting 5 inches of rain several weeks after planting and water was standing in containers. Have since taken care of this problem.
So...too much water? Something in manure or compost?
