Pots are 24" at top and taper. They tend to tip if they have a tall plant. The plant acts like a sail when a strong wind hits it. I ended up tying adjacent tomato cages to each other and then everything stayed upright regardless of weather. I have many pots due to bought a pallet of 88 for only $.25 each 2 years ago. Not an ideal pot but the price was right.

Taste: Don't know yet. Those reds ripened fast and went soft. My mother made sauce out of them all. I still have some reds and will try to get a taste test on a couple. But they are toms that are "use it now." I think the reds came from the plants that had the regular leaf. I did get red/yellow striated toms from at least one if the potato leaf plants. There were 2 types of plant in that seed packet. And most seemed to be reds. I found some web site selling an Old German that was red not red + yellow.
