Last Summer I put a Brandy Boy seed in a peat pellet (I removed the mesh around it) and planted it in the garden in mid July. By the end of September I had a few small tomatoes on it. It grew a large thick stem and was very healthy before the frost got to it. In this area we normally plant outside around Memorial Day. I was wondering about starting seeds next Spring around mid April and then around the first of May planting them directly in the garden with some sort of protection around them like a cut off 2 liter soda bottle or wall o water’s. This would be done just as true leaves were starting to form. By Memorial Day I could have established plants already without having to worry about getting indoor lighting for the plants, hardening them off, etc. Could this work.
