So I was selling seeds at Christmas time in Ransomville, a small town farming community north of Niagara Falls, and this old lady comes up and starts telling me about her family heirloom she grows. She's telling me it's great, grows huge sized fruit. And then she says it is for sale on the internet. I ask her the name and she says, "Hoy." I told her I never grew it, but I knew the name. Her uncle was Hoy. She herself was originally from WV. I didn't ask about how she ended up in Ransomville, but probably during the Niagara Falls industrial plants heyday her husband got a job here as many people ended up here that way. So she gave me her name, Betty, and phone number to contact her about getting some of her seeds at planting time. You never know who you'll meet!
