I just selected seeds 2 nights ago. I will plant them by the weekend.

I am going to emphasize some of my crosses this year and see what I get. Last year I had seeds that I started from a F1 cross between Prue and Marianna's Peace. Of the many F1s I started I picked two for grow out. The first was one that exhibited a droopy potato leaf characteristic and the second had the droopiest regular leaf characteristic of the batch.

The droopy potato leaf cross I named "Emily" and it turned out to be a nice pink beefsteak with great flavor. I will plant a bunch of them and pick the best one for next year.

The other was sort of a plum and it was great eating. It did well in our taste competition so I am going to grow it out and pick the best of that batch and perhaps give it a name as well.

Other new things for me include:

White Current (I'll put this in a pot on my back porch)
Berkley Tie Dye (mine from last year got Fusarium)

Stand-in’s include:

Dr. Lyle
Earl's Faux
Cherokee Green
Cherokee Purple
Sungold
Black Cherry

Maybe Aunt Gertie's Gold.

And lastly I was trying to make a Cherokee Green X Yellow Cookie. I was hoping to make a Green Heart from the cross. I will start a gazillion seeds and see if I get any intermediate leaf types and then I will grow some of those.

Can't wait to start tasting them!
