Yay for winter birds and lovely pic, Coastal! I really need to up my skills because I'd love to catch the antics of Juncos in my garden midwinter. I leave the herb straw standing because they forage on the stalks sticking up through the snow. They are a riot playing tag with eachother among the stalks. Whenever I leave the house I usually hear friendly chirping in the forest. Not sure who it is, I have got glimpses of sparrows, kinglets, and others but rarely, they seem to stay well tucked away for the most part. Our winter doesn't melt the day after, generally! But they sing anyway.
