See, I don't think that is cheating. I think of it as resourceful planning.
I didn't try to overwinter anything this year, and I regret it. Last year I had my first fruits in March.

Mine are cheaters as they are still growing from 2017 spring. F2 plants of my own cross, green when ripe cherries. (Incidentally these GWRs don't turn any color when ripe, first I have seen this)
