things have finally quieted down here. three days of high winds knocked out a power line causing some people to be without power for awhile. we were unaffected, a few light flickers but that was it. we did not get the heavy snow that was forecast the first two days of the storm. however, on the way home from work yesterday, it was snowing heavy. i had to creep along on the side roads due to poor visibility. we ended up with about 6 to 8 inches of fresh snow by morning. i spent several hours outside plowing snow, blowing snow, shoveling snow, and scooping snow. i got the dog out for a long walk, filled up the bird feeders, topped off the chickens, and turkeys food, and water, fueled up the tractor, and finally fueled up myself. now, time for a break.

temps are in the teens to 20s, and it is going to continue to snow for the next several days. not a question of if, but how much.
looking outside, the fresh snow is pretty. the pine trees are heavily frosted. it looks like a christmas card.

winter is here in the copper country.
