As a relative newcomer, it sometimes seems like discussing pruning is somewhat like discussing whether to spank your children: strong emotions may result!

The two extremes: leave the plants alone to leave only 3 leaves on the entire plant ala Kacper Postawski.

Safe to say -most gardeners fall somewhere in between! Methods vary depending on how you support your plants (my guess is that if you use big cages you are not going to prune to a single stem!), location in the country, available space in your garden/farm, and whether you grow under cover or not.
