Brandywine,

as seeds from Johnny's and plants from SSE.

One year out of seven, it was heavenly; the weather was just right. The other six seasons, it was watery and mealy, because it ripened in late summer, when the temps get in the 40's and 50's regularly.

(Brandy Boy hybrid from Burpee was no better last season, the one year I grew it.)
