High Voltage always works. After they get a taste, you can turn it off...they won't come back. Years ago I bought what is referred to as a grass snapper. When the grass grows up to touch the lowest wire, you hear a snap! and the blade of grass is burnt off. It's the kind that you don't have to touch...just get your finger real close and the spark jump.

I ran it for two weeks then turned it off. No more deer trouble for the rest of the season. Now each year I run it for the first two weeks and that's it. Did I say that there's five big old apple trees in the yard that litter the place with apples in the fall. They don't even come back for the apples! It scares the livin' shinola outta 'em!

P.S. When I'm near the fence while it's on, between the hum and little sparks at the insulators; it scares the livin' shinola outta me too.
