The raccoons have not bothered my tomatoes. They love cat food,
though. When I have trapped them with a live trap, that is what I
used for bait. They also raid garbage bins, etc, and I hear that they
like big nightcrawlers.
They find being drenched with vinegar somewhat annoying.
