I have a big favor to ask of those of you who got Mareko Fana seeds from me last year:

As many of you may know, we are starting a seed company this year (Artisan Seeds). One of our goals is to introduce little-known varieties of exceptional quality. We are going to release both a red and a brown Mareko Fana, another Ethiopian pepper and two Ethiopian mustards.

The question is "when?"

We are trying to raise money by essentially pre-selling seeds for these varieties and other stuff from our farm. This will cover the costs of producing the seed this summer (rent, water, labor, packaging, etc.), and will allow us to release all these varieties THIS YEAR.

It is critical for projects like this that potential pledgers can see testimonials from people familiar with the varieties (Mareko Fana in this case). Pledgers will want to know if we are just blowing smoke....

If you liked the Mareko Fana peppers we sent last year, and you would like to see them made available to gardeners and small farmers please provide your comments in

1) the comments section of our kickstarter project site (you will have to pledge $1 to comment)

OR

2) leave comments about Mareko Fana on our blog, in the comments section of this post:

Cheers...

The kickstarter project link has a video featuring Menkir Tamrat, who brought us these peppers.
