??? for Andrey.......Malinovy Zvon

Hi Andrey....getting pretty 2-3 inches raspberry pink ripe fruit from Malinovy Zvon in 55-60 days. With all the talk from the dwarf project, I wondered if Malinovy Zvon might be a dwarf or just determinate. It seems to have the dense curly leaves and not a vining plant. What do you think?? Thanks, Patty
ps..grew Demidov a couple years ago... it is a dwarf, right??

Patty, I grew a Malinowy ( that spelling) many years ago that had dark pink fruits of that size. And I know there are several different Malinowys.

But I'm curious to know if the foliage on yours was swept upwards, as mine was. Very different and I've remembered it to this day even tho I grew that out sometime in the early 90's.

Carolyn........did an afternoon check on Malinovy Zvon and no the leaves were not upswept at all. It is a healthy dark green, dense, thick, and crinkled foliage....and barely 4 foot tall. Patty

Patty, I faild to grow Malinovyi Zvon this year because of too much seedlings I had for a limited space I always have. I remember it has a determinate compact plant, but I can't say nothing about foliage. Demidov is a real dwarf fo sure :)

Carolyn, there is one difference between Russian and Polish "raspberry" tomato names. In Polish they always "Malinowy" and in Russian "Malinovyi" ;)

I know this thread is almost 12 years old but I plan on growing this tomato this year (long story short; the name of my late horse was Zvon so I just have to grow it) and I wonder if anyone found out if it was "just" a det or if it's a dwarf.
