A Warning From Texas.

A Warning From Texas.

I am putting this here for the sole reason everyone can see it for our safety.

Texas has banned red light cameras.

What does this mean for you?
It means you will start to see more and more cars running last second red lights so be on the lookout before you cross an intersection for these red light runners.
No longer will they get a ticket unless a cop sees them.

I have already observed cars I see going home and to work that I have seen stop on red lights run them.
I mean the same drivers because we all are on the road at the same time.

One I see almost every day did it yesterday next to me.
He ran that puppy like it wasn't even there way after it turned red.
He had plenty of time to stop.

I was and am still against red light cameras but blatantly running red lights is wrong.
Even the big trucks are driving more aggressive now and driving faster.
I used to drive one and I can't tell you how many I ran red lights because I couldn't stop.
I couldn't live with myself running lights so I stopped driving a truck.
Don't be a victim of red light runners in Texas they are on the rise.

Why not put a dashcam in your car and send the evidence to the police.

People cant just go around doing what they like in 2019, almost everyone has a smartphone and dashcams.

Then it would be the same as a red light camera.
I would have to go to court to prove the person did it.
In the US a person has the right to meet the accuser in a court of law.
Here if the police write a ticket and you take it to court if they dont show up the ticket is thrown out.
In the US we don't have to prove our innocence the courts have to prove our guilt.

I dont know all the laws in different countries like the UK but I do know a lot of them.
It has served me well. :)

Around here in south Georgia, and north Florida, the cameras at intersections are crazy. For the fun of it, I count them, and sometimes there are 15-20 at a single intersection. Really?

When we had the cameras I found them to be dangerous and revenue generators. When approaching an intersection the guy in front of you was more likely to stop quickly to avoid a ticket and then cause a rear end collision.

Also they have no judgment. You will get a ticket if only a couple of inches over the line.

I don't think that we have the cameras but we have lots of red light runners here.

In fact we were T-boned and our car totaled by one of them a few years ago. He said that we pulled out in front of him and that his light was green. HOWEVER there was a lady with 5 kids in her car right behind us who gave a statement that he was lying. She said that she was grateful that he didn't hit her and the kids and that he flew through the intersection without even slowing down. I was grateful to her and told her so.

Oh and guess what else? He had no insurance!

I know what town to stay out of now. The main road going through the middle of it merges with I35. There are so many red lights before getting to I35 - it is a pain to drive through Burleson, Texas.
