Jaune Flamme
 

It's in one of the top 10 this year, I like the taste. Not big but lots of tomatoes. Plus they look good in an egg carton, I'm getting. $5/dozen!

They were used,and washed in 135 degree soapy water then rinsed in 135 degree pure water...

The tomatoes are nice; that is the main point, I'd guess.


It's also nice you are able to at least reuse the polystyrene—a petroleum-based product—egg cartons.

I love this variety,always have and always will.The original source in France is not known,but my seeds were from Norbert in France in 1992.Page 138 in my heirloom tomato book.

There's also a Jaune Negib, also from Norbert,but not as good as the one pictured here in this thread in my opinion.

I have two people that I gave a small assortment of tomatoes to. They like Juane Flamme and will pay a premium for perfect ones (or close to perfect). I'm giving up on growing all these strange tomatoes, and narrowing it down to 10 really good ones... next.

I planted around 25 different cherry tomatoes this year, so far mainly a waste of time.

Will have to include it in my next year's grow list, it was really tasty when I had it some years ago.

I put my first Jaune Flamme in this year and I love it. Incredibly productive, and most excellent fruit. Nice balance of sweet, acid and other flavors. I'll be doing those again next year.

Glad to hear they're doing well for you. Jaune Flamme really impressed me for the steady production and uniform pretty fruit. A really nice market tomato.

I am growing Helio this year and it is shaping up to be a producer. All full clusters with sturdy stems, I like the look of em. Still waiting to taste.. :wait:
