A few more dwarves
(front row)L>R: Yellow Canary, Micro Gemma, Red Robin
I must say MG is certainly smaller and more compact than RR and YC. I started them all on January 1. |
looking very nice and healthy.

Yes, looking quite good! How do the others taste
compared to Red Robin... or is this your first time growing these? Lee |
Hi Lee,
This will be my first time for Micro Gemma so I can't comment on the taste. I think there is a thread around here somewhere that linked to the University of Florida study about various dwarf tomatoes (Papa Vic, I think) I thought Yellow Canary tasted pretty good last year, similar to RR but a little sweeter. Yellow Canary is also excellent as a dried tomato. Just when the larger, tastier varieties are coming on and you're getting sick of these little cherries- pop them in the dehydrator. They are great as a winter sweet treat. The best thing about RR and YC (and I assume MG) is that they never (well, almost) split. Jeff |

Michael, thanks for posting the link.

Rather than calling them "dwarves", I wonder if we shouldn't be calling them "little tomatoes"....
