I wish mine was that small! ;)
What I mean is you have a great list. I have a huge list, but don't know which will be keepers for my future and which won't grow in this hot dry climate. |

:elvis:GMG Pink? tell more more .......
|
i got a free packet of grubs mystery green with a seed order last year. when planted out i got 1+ pound pink tomatoes with the exception of the one in a container which all turned out to be 6-12 ounces. the flavor was very good and my brother-in-laws fav variety. i did not save seed but i still have a bunch left in the seed packet. i'll never know what the mix up was so i can just call it GMG pink.
i'll be saving seed this year if the plants do even half as well as last year. they produced pretty late in the season but once they started they pumped out maters |
That is a fine list!
I just started my earlies yesterday:D: Casino Chips Crimson Sprinter Dancing With SmurfsF5 Matina Matt's Wild Cherry Trevor's Golden Beam & 5 varieties of grilling peppers. I have 23 more varieties for the main crop that I intend to drop seed March 7. And at some time to be determined later, dropping seed for my Giants! |
decided to add to my list. put in a few more varieties just as backups of my backups ;)

LOL
What is your target plant out date? I am pre germinating peas tomorrow, tomatoes hopefully next weekend. |
my south jersey garden's mid-late april and up in north jersey if the weather cooperates may 1st.
|
I hope the weather cooperates!
May 1 is my target date as well although I didn't get out until the 14th last year. |
i remember last year being a strange one. like 80 degree days in april then all of a sudden it was 50's with lows in the 30s for a while. i hope that doesnt happen.
my gardens down south are on LBI so they are protected from freezes by the bay and ocean. not sure if its similar where you live but when the water warms up in april it doesnt allow the low temps to get below freezing. on the flip side when you get hot days early in the year the ocean and bay keep the island from heating up. its a strange micro climate that i'm still figuring out how to garden in |
How did Sandy treat you on LBI? I think I am the same zone as North Jersey.
Far enough from the water so that I don't get any micro effect. |
