"baby heirlooms"
Anyone see these in the grocery store? They are from Melissa's. Quite a mix of "baby heirlooms" - yellow, orange, pink, red, kinda stripped red and I didn't think they looked too great. $4.99. Another store today had a different brand, same price. Not heirloom cherry tomatoes but baby. piegirl

Never seen personally but often visiting her website and wonder how expensive everything in USA. She use many 'baby" before vegetable name, cek it here http://www.melissas.com/Products/Categories/Vegetables.aspx.
Maybe its they way to call it small. |
I saw some (different brand) at the store yesterday, they were on "sale" for $3.99  so I bought a pack. They tasted like normal store bought tomatoes BUT, my 3 yo ate TONS of them because he liked all the different colors! So, he's gonna love my garden this year - Black Cherry, Sungold F1, Green Doctor's Frosted, Matt's Wild Cherry, Sarah's Galapagos, Coyote, Snow White, Yellow Submarine..... think that covers the "baby" tomatoes, lol!!!

WOW! Two packages for $25.20-maybe they're gold filled!
Yep, they seem to like the word "baby" alot. |
Yep, they seem to like the word "baby" alot.
They sure do, and I find it very irritating. To me, a baby tomato is a small green unripe, far from full size, unedible tomato. I don't consider cherry or grape tomatoes to be babies.
All this eating of "baby" vegetables sounds so gimmicky. /puke And even a little mean. |
