Attention Tom Wagner: Missouri Crimson Delight

Hi Tom,

Though not a cross, I have heard you worked with the Missouri line of tomatoes during some past breeding program?

If this is correct, and you have time, would you be so kind as to tell me what you know about the Missouri Crimson Delight I have just grown?

Very nice pink, but can't find out much at all about it online or by Googling...

I hope this finds you well.
Bst, Grubs.

Grub,

Oh, I can find the Crimson Delight on Google just fine. Only problem, it links to you!

Otherwise Crimson Delight is a WATERMELON!

Now, I have some memory of many of Missouri's tomato OP and hybrid lines. I was hoping to be a grad student with Victor Lambeth at one point, but he wasn't taking any grad students at the time. Nevertheless, I know a lot about his lines and the name does not click with me, sorry!

I would have to go back to some really old tomato seed to see if I received or saved seed from anything similar.

Sorry

Tom Wagner

Thanks for your reply, Tom.

M.Love Apple was great, but now I'm thinking this one is from a family line.

I hope you have a great season, whatever it may bring, Mr Wagner.

Cheers, Grubs :)

Grub,

Gary/Louisville says Crimson Delight is an 1840's family heirloom.

Gary/nowhere near Louisville :)

Wow! That old... it does seem rather good. I hope I can save seeds...

Crimson Delight

Grub, Gary in Louisville sent me Crimson Delight with the same note, an 1840s heirloom. I'm looking forward to growing it.

Do you think you will grow it again?
