rosse cuttings in a potato?

Anyone here ever heard of starting rose cuttings in a potato? I just read where it has been done like that. Too cool.

If you have tried it, I'd love to read your experience.

No, I have not tried rooting roses in potato tubers. I just posted the link and photo in case someone else had.

Just looking at the photo, based on the direction of the thorns, they are rooting the wrong end of 2 of the rose cuttings.

saltmarsh, I noticed that! too funny. The directions on the link from Tom are to plant the potato and keep cutting off its growth.

Thanks Tom for posting the photo. I haven't figured out how to do pictures here yet.
