On rainy days mornings these twins like to bed down in the middle of the back yard about 30 ft from the house. The herd is stable year to year at about ten animals, with three young produced each spring. They wander through the yard daily around sun rise and sunset (any time in the winter). The occasional wild turkey is seen too. We are in city limits with houses surrounding 15 acres of brushy woods (open field when I was a kid). The nearest natural habitat is about a mile away across a series of corn fields.

Most of the tomatoes are grown against the house or barn, and protected by old sections of 3.5 ft high wire yard fencing held agains some T-posts with zip ties. We roll up the wire at the end of the season to make digging easier. Even when they can easily reach around the fencing its presence tends to keep them away, but anything just outside the fence is stripped.
