Winter Daphne Buds Are Fat
Two years ago the first daphne buds opened the week of Jan 22 and last year (colder weather) they opened on Feb 6. They're right on time and there should be blooms this week. The buds are fat and ready to rock! Can't wait for that heavenly sweet scent.

Beautiful!

I can smell them from here ! Your picture made me look more closely at mine. I see just a little colour showing. It does seem early here, too but not surprising with El Nino mild winter temperatures this year. Still got to get through February which is a winter month here.

So lucky! I killed a couple of daphnes in Massachusetts...just too cold where I was.
And now I’m thinking it’s too warm here in N. Florida, lol. I love them though. |
I'm so jealous! I had Daphne in two different homes and both times the limbs got so big that it couldn't support itself and it died. I couldn't trim it back to save it because there were no new buds forming on the huge limbs :(. It's probably time to spring for a new plant this year!
