These both and the same Tomato but given different Names ??..

came across some notes from 2006 re Japanese Trifle Black (seems to be various spellings of this) vs Russian Black Pear ...... (seed from Andrey) - I did trial both and recall the Russian Black Pear was much tastier ..... I have a few more notes and will update if I can find them

Russian Black Pear: dark-brown, midlate, indeterminate, very tasty and productive

Russian Black Pear (from Andrey - developed by NK Seeds called "Must pirn" which has crinkly, black colored, pear shaped fruit that is closely related to the Black Trifele Tomatoes. In Russia, these varieties are found more among the highest end seed dealers)

Yes thank you kindly for that :), amazing how same fruit or should i say simmillar can differ in name .
As you mention re taste that can also differ depending on soil and time of year planting.
Ive just been picking most of my Russian Purple off the vine as they are starting to soften somewhat from my leaving them on the vine waiting for them to aquire their stated colour :) , which offcourse hasnt and isnt happenning though ive collected ample seed to give them more trials during our Summer as well as Early Autumn.
Have also been told and read somewhere that seeds may take two to three trials before you aquire the correct fruit,colour and taste ??..
Otherwise they will be dissapearing off the seed saving stash lol..

Actually there are 2 different Russian CVs.
Yaponskiy Trufel Chornyi (=Japanese Truffle Black or Black Japanese Truffle in English) and Grusha Chornaya (=Black Pear in English, sometimes called Russian Black Pear).

I have my package of seeds out - thinking I'd better grow this one soon or it will be too late ..

Andrey - could you please let me know what which one I have? (the one shown in picture above)
