Is Dil worth starting from a seed?

Hi All,

Is dill worth starting from a seed or should I just buy plants?

Thanks for the advice.

Cheers,

Angelique

Ive always grown my dill from seed. It germinates well for me and is wonderfull to smell from the begining...but I only ise about 3 varieties.

Super. It might be a little late for me to start Dukat Leafy Dill. These are the seeds that I bought a while ago. I might just give it a chance, since I have nothing to loose.

Dill

Yes, dill is worth starting from seed and easy too. Matter of fact, I use to start "Mammoth Dill" in the house and then transplant but it reseeded the last couple of years so I don't have to any longer.

You guys can take this for what its worth.
For one thing dill is almost too easy to start from seed and the other is grasshoppers love the stuff.
So even if you don’t like dill and you have a problem with grasshoppers you can start it early and plant it around the garden as a trap crop for the miserable critters.

I like dill,

Worth

Let some of the dill plants go to seed, then take plants and walking around shake here and there in the garden or edge of field. You'll have plenty of dill next year. :-)
