Anybody have a clue what kind of eggs these are?

They are actually on a daffodil leaf.

I am not sure if it's a good bug or a bad one.

Thanks.

SueCT March 27, 2018 09:53 PM

Wow. I never see good bugs in that quantity. Just sayin. Hope it is, though.

Have a look here, and see if any of the eggs shown resemble what you've got on that plant.

If that is Stink Bugs it sure is easy to get rid of them.

MissS March 28, 2018 01:16 AM

Whoever laid those eggs sure lost a heap of weight.

Stink bugs. Get rid of them.

clkeiper March 28, 2018 08:00 AM

they look just like squashbug eggs except a different color. I think they the same family! pull off the leaf and burn it. Beneficials do no lay eggs in quantities like this and they lay them where there is an infestation of some sort so their young have a food source available upon hatching.

Thanks everybody!

Y'all are great!

The link in sirtanon's post shows the eggs of a stink bug (https://assets.atlasobscura.com/article_images/30965/image.jpg), and it confirms that you folks are exactly right.

I took a closer photo through a magnifier:

Wow, I have never seen eggs in that quantity before. If you want to be sure, cut the leaf off and put it into a jar with a lid and some holes and see what hatches out.

The stinkbug, ugh.
Saw our first one here a couple years ago. One every few days in the kitchen the past
couple months. One of my pups caught one last weekend and toyed with it for a while.
When he did bite it, the look on his face was priceless from the 'stench'.
Big problem for many and so invasive.

As soon as we find a good use for them, you'll never see them again.
