"igloo" variety green bean
Anybody grow this variety yet? I have tried it twice. the beans I got to germinate and grow were fabulous but the germination rate was really poor. did you have decent germination or did I just get a bad batch or two of beans? it is supposed to be great in cooler weather... I have yet to find it germinates well.

It doesn't sound like you saved seed from the first time, in order to avoid a bad batch the second time. Are the seeds white? |
No, I don't save seeds from beans and yes they are white. they are just a variety I seem to not have much success with. is it me or the bean?
|
For me, white seeded beans and cool/cold soil do not mix. I've had near 100% germination of other colored beans, with near 0% germination of white beans planted the same day and same location.

they are supposed to be cold tolerant. good for Spring or Fall planting I just don't have much luck getting them to germinate but the ones that do are really nice beans. long straight and dark green.
