Glad to hear the good news of our tomatovillians so far. My blessings go out to those who did not fare so well in this storm.

I found these in their backyard, don't know what it is but I'm going to take some seeds back to Florida.

Recovery

How is the recovery proceeding?

From what I've heard, power restoration is way ahead of schedule/estimates.

Most of us on the East Coast have power. I only lost mine for 45 minutes on the night of the hurricane but my friends just got theirs on this morning which was kind of heartbreaking to watch. They have started collecting the branch debris from the side of the road once they do that it's going to quit looking like such a war zone.

I say I'm on the East Coast but actually I am 20 miles Inland from the coast.

I was only without power for 2 days which is amazing since there over 200,000 power outages in Jacksonville. Did not have Comcast for 6 days but never lost my cell phone service. I have roof damage but roofers are all booked and am on a wait list. The insurance adjuster still has not been here. I was finally able to buy eggs a couple of days ago. Stores are not fully stocked yet and frozen food is not restocked. After several chain saw days I have all the big limbs cut up and out at the street. That was easy compared to trying to pick up all the small twigs that are everywhere. I still feel lucky because I was not in an area that flooded.

My sister just got power Wednesday...lost 25 koi fish, some 20yrs old.
She is fine with it except for the fish stink without garbage pic-up.
(seems 70+ survived ). Not a priority at the moment.

The power fellas fixing her power were from Wisconsin and when she
offered food/snack they declined..."too hot to eat"

She left last night, after all she went through, to MexicoCity with a trauma
unit...

I saw on the news here in Tennessee that there were 6.5+ Million people in Florida without power from Irma and as of Weds, 9/20, it was <200K people still without power. That is incredible.

My street lost power for 8 hours, but the feeder pole from the main road broke in 1/2 and has already been replaced by a new concrete pole.

Going home at the end of the month to see what the extent of my home damage. It would have to be interior damage from any roof leaks that may have occurred when my solar panels were ripped off. No flooding.

Has anybody heard or seen posts from Douglas? Worried about how he made out. I haven't been on for awhile myself busy still with clean up here from Irma. Felt kinda bad for some folks. One of my neighbors had folks from Fl that evacuated to here and then darn if Irma didn't change course and came right across our area of AL and GA.

Douglas posted a garden visitor post just today. He is OK. How did your house do, Ella?
