growing Thai Green Pea Eggplant

I m doing alot of Asian varietys of veg's this yr .
I was wondering if anyone has grown Thai Green Pea Eggplant
IT is a little pea shape eggplant.

First attempt last year... In my location (zone 6b) there wasn't quite enough time to get fruit... But they were flowering by the end of summer/beginning of fall. I potted a few (they didn't seem to mind being dug up,) but the temporary greenhouse they were in was... too temporary, and blew down just in time for the first hard freeze. Sigh.

I had planned to try shading them a few hours before sundown for the last 4-6 weeks of summer in an attempt to get them fruiting sooner, but it wasn't at the top of my priority list and didn't get done. You might try that and/or plan on keeping them in pots to bring inside near the end. I was planning to keep them alive for the winter and replant them ready to bear this year.

They can get to be rather large, thorny plants - just so you know.

They require a very, very long season. Long and hot. I've had sucess by planting out the first year in a container, overwintering and planting out the container again the next year for a harvest. Big plant, best put on wheels (at least for me)

Great variety, Antruwa. But being so tiny, very limited in what you can do with it except in Thai cuisine. That's good enough in my books.

I haven't started any seeds, but I left a few in the ground to see if they'll come back from the roots. They are a different species than most eggplant we are famiar with, and considered a noxious weed down south...
