Lid buckled but seems sealed, should I reprocess
I made a batch of pickles late yesterday where I probably over-tightened the lids, and most of them have a small amount of buckling on the lid, inside of the seal area.
They all seem to be properly sealed, though, and when I tap them with a spoon I get a clear sound like I would expect from a sealed lid. Should I go ahead and reprocess them anyway? |
A tough call. If they're sealed, they're sealed. On the other hand, reprocessing them would let you sleep better.

Kind of what I thought, too. Thanks. I think I'm going to take the two that seemed most questionable and refrigerate them for short term use, and label the other four to be used first.

That sounds like a good idea, Miken. Anything other than a perfectly sealed jar makes me nervous. They should stay good in the refrigerator for a long time.
