Nooo They are assassin bug nymphs they are a good bug.

With all due respect please be careful what you identify as a bad bug.
The bugs that are in the first picture will grow up to eat just about every bad bug in the garden.

Like Worth pointed out those little red/orange bugs are looking for a meal in the form of a bug not the mater they are crawling on. Had a bunch on my tomatoes and not a mark on the mater.

I apologize for the misinformation. I should have said leaf footed nymphs. I cant tell the difference between them and the assassin bug nymphs. They look alot alike and the ones that have damaged my fruit look like the one in the OP's picture.
The assassin nymphs have small white spots on their body like the one in Worths pic, the LFB nymphs do not

So is it an assassin bug nymph or a leaf footed bug nymph?

They may very well be leaf footed nymphs but coming from La it is not that far from where i used to live and every bug that looked like that ended up being a wheel bug.

They are very hard to tell apart so I look at the bugs and see what they are doing.

I simply hate to kill bugs because as usual the bad ones tend to survive while the bad ones prosper.

Stink bugs are abundant this year where I live.:evil:
So far we have had fires, drought, stinkbugs, chiggers high wind and early hot weather.
Even Fergie wasnt invited to the royal wedding, what a year.:twisted:

Well I did learn something today and will look for the white spots to determine which nymph I am dealing with in the future.
What I saw yesterday on one of my tomatoes was a green stink bug. Usually the LFB arent far behind
