Thigmomorphogenesis: tomato stimuli

I read in this forum about thigmomorphogenesis and I have been using a feather to touch my tomato seedlings twice a day, especially when they were spending more time indoors. They are now spending more time outdoors and are being moved by the breeze, so I'm thinking I may not have to use my feather anymore. They are starting to look great and they are growing nicely. At what point, or rather height, do commercial growers who use a mechanical stimuli stop touching their tomato plants?

I think it's best to maintain physical contact all the way thru till "death-do-us-part".

I only do this while my tomatoes are in the greenhouse. not once they are outside and exposed to the wind.
